CEESEG may sell Ljubljana Stock Exchange

Mon, 01/06/2015

Nearly 7 years after the CEE Stock Exchange Group took over Ljubljana Stock Exchange, it is considering to sell it again. By Vanda Mocnik Kohek, GSS Slovenia.

Reasons for this consideration, according to unofficial information, are too expensive and complicated integration due to Slovene regulations, low turnover, lack of prime market companies after various sell-offs, and government plans to transfer listings of bigger Slovene companies to larger stock exchanges outside Slovenia.

Zagreb Stock Exchange is, according to rumours, one of most interested potential buyers.

The CEE Stock Exchange Group, comprising the stock exchanges of Budapest, Ljubljana, Prague and Vienna, will make its decision by mid-year, after all possibilities and economically acceptable offers by potential buyers have been closely examined.
