The Directorate for Economic Planning published its Economic Reform Programme

According to information that the BiH Directorate for Economic Planning (DEP) presented in its Economic Reform Programme 2017-2019, the BIH economy can expect growth over next three years.

DEP based its expectations on the progress of countries in their accession to the European Union, such as the submission of the application for EU membership and the receipt of the Questionnaire of the European Commission.

For 2017, DEP projects a growth in Nominal GDP by 4.6%, while growth in 2018 and 2019 is projected at 5.5%. Industrial production in Bosnia and Herzegovina is expected to increase by 5% in 2017. Furthermore, DEP expects that growth in industrial production in 2018 and 2019 will exceed 5%.

The continued trend of industrial output growth in BiH in 2016 was achieved mainly due to an increase in export-oriented manufacturing industries, according to DEP in the Programme. DEP expects a continued positive trend and increase in industrial output by over 4% in 2017.

The Economic Reform Programme 2017-2019 which was adopted by the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, prescribes 18 priority reforms which should lead to overall growth in BIH economic indicators.
