T+2 in Republic of Srpska

The Central Registry of Securities Banja Luka has decided to switch from T+3 to T+2 settlement cycle for securities transactions concluded after 1 January 2015.

After a joint meeting held between the Securities Commission of Republic of Srpska, the Central Registry of Securities (CSD), the Banja Luka Stock Exchange, and representatives of brokerage companies and custody banks, which was held on 14 May 2014, the CSD decided to switch from T+3 to T+2 settlement cycle.

The migration to the T+2 settlement cycle will be implemented as follows:

  • for transactions made on or before 31 December 2014, T+3 settlement cycle will apply.
  • for transactions made after 1 January 2015, T+2 settlement cycle will apply.

It may be expected that the CSD will soon share draft amendments of the Rulebook on clearing and settlement with the CSD members, which will provide further information about settlement procedures and market deadlines.

Impact on investors: CSD in Republic of Srpska will switch to T+2 settlement cycle, which will apply to all transactions concluded after 01 January 2015
