The Regulatory Oversight Committee has approved the status of Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) as local operating unit (LOU). In addition, the Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency (HANFA), as a local regulator has given its approval to amend ZSE’s operating license, thereby creating the legal grounds for allocation and administration of LEIs locally by ZSE.  ZSE has started to allocate and administer LEIs on 12 May 2015.

Legal entities may apply for a LEI using the HRLEI service managed by the ZSE, available at https://lei.zse.hr/. There is a LEI allocation fee, amounting to HRK 740+VAT. This fee is to be paid simultaneously with the submission of application for LEI, which is than valid for a one year period.

Entities which already have a LEI allocated by another local operating unit can transfer to the HRLEI service by filling the e-form available on HRLEI’s website. When transferring the LEI, in addition to the ordinary annual administration after the first year, legal entities are charged an amount of HRK 400+VAT.

Impact on investors:  Allocation of LEI by the Zagreb Stock Exchange should contribute to the safety and efficiency of financial activities taking place in the local market.
