Holiday reminder and extra working day in Hungary

Thursday, 20 August 2015 will be a national holiday and Friday, 21 August 2015 will be a public holiday in Hungary. Thus, all capital market infrastructures will be closed. The substitute working day in exchange for Friday 21 August is set to Saturday, 8 August 2015.

Please be informed that Thursday, 20 August will be a national holiday and Friday, 21 August will be a public holiday in Hungary. Banks, KELER, KELER CCP, BSE, BÉTa MTF and MTS Hungary will be closed. Trading on BSE and on MTS Hungary will not be possible on these days, as well as no clearing and settlement will take place.

Saturday, 8 August 2015 is set as an extra working day in Hungary, replacing Friday 21 August 2015, which will be an extra public holiday in accordance with the local practice.

On Saturday, 8 August 2015 the banks, KELER and KELER CCP will be open, and UniCredit Bank Hungary and both KELER and KELER CCP will be operating with shortened deadlines. Free of payment OTC securities transfers will be processed between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. CET, whereas against payment OTC transactions can be settled between 7:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. CET in KELER. As a result, UniCredit Bank Hungary will accept client instructions for guaranteed same day settlement on this day until 2:00 p.m. CET in case of free transactions, and by 1:30 p.m. CET for against payment settlement. On the extra working day, trading on the Budapest Stock Exchange or on the MTS Hungary Platform will not be possible, thus no clearing will take place.

 

Impact on investors: No trading, clearing, settlement and payment operations will be possible on 20 and 21 August 2015. However, on 8 August 2015, the extra working day, all banks, KELER, KELER CCP will be open, but trading on the Budapest Stock Exchange or on the MTS Hungary Platform will not be possible, and thus no clearing will take place.
