The new method for calculating the free-float coefficient, which was approved by the Board of Directors of CJSC MICEX Stock Exchange and the Management Board of the Moscow Stock Exchange in April 2013, will come into effect on 27 May 2013. According to the new methodology the depositary receipts will be included in the securities that are in the free float.
Impact on investors: The new calculation methodology will improve the transparency of the indices’ calculation on the Russian securities market in accordance with the best international practices in addition to improving the market structure for global investments.
