GSS empowers women to advance their careers.
It was with great delight that we promoted our long-time colleague Jana Badovinac Žunek to new Head of Global Securities Services Slovenia.
In August it will be 13 years that Jana has been serving at UniCredit Bank Slovenia. During this time she has held several positions at GSS. We have gotten to know Jana as a proven expert with a will to move things forward. I am convinced that she has the skills and the determination to further shape our successful Slovenian business.
An active member of several working groups of influential bodies such as the Central Bank of Slovenia, The Bank Association of Slovenia and the Slovenian CSD, Jana has been proactively advocating for changes in the market environment and to the respective legislation.
Before joining UniCredit, Jana worked at a brokerage house in Ljubljana where she gained the basics for her professional knowledge in the securities business. Moving on to GSS, she was in charge of settlement and corporate actions for international clients and soon became Head of Operations.
In her role, Jana is succeeding Elmedina Garibović, who became CEO of UniCredit Leasing. Congratulations to both, Jana and Elmedina! I am proud to emphasise that we at UniCredit GSS do look after our female high potentials. UniCredit’s internal succession pool, a group-wide scheme that supports women getting into management positions, laid the ground for Jana’s advancement.
