On 13 July 2020 ESMA published the results of the third EU-wide CCP stress test from 2019 on the overall resilience of CCPs to market shocks and various default events. This test evaluated the credit and liquidity risk, as well as an additional concentration risk component, in order to assess potential losses resulting from the liquidation of concentrated positions. The report from ESMA also included individual figures of the participating CCPs which proved that CCP Austria passed the test successfully and achieved good results measured by international standards.
Impact on investors: The stress test confirmed the resilience of the Austrian CCP even under extreme market turmoil like the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
