UniCredit Bank Austria received the following additional information from the Tax Authorities:

Reclaims forms ZS-RE1A, which have already been produced on the version from November 2014, can still be filed and will be accepted by the Tax Authorities, as only the sequence of the questions have been changed in the new version.

On the new version of form ZS-RE1A, Question 6, which provides the documentation requirements now states that the required transaction lists have to cover the period starting one month prior to and ending one month after the ex-date. However, the Tax Authorities stated clearly that they are authorised to request transaction lists for a whole business year (as has been the case so far) at any time and at their sole discretion and that they would recommend to proactively continue adding them also in future.

We were additionally provided also with clarification on the confirmation requirements if no transactions have occurred during the calendar year. In such cases, a confirmation containing the following information will have to be presented:

  • Name and address of the custodian bank confirming that no transactions have occurred during the calendar year
  • Name, address and Tax ID of the applicant
  • Securities account and cash account of the applicant at the named custodian bank
  • Security ISIN / name
  • Holding as of 1 January of the respective year
  • Holding as of ex-date - 1 of the respective year
  • Full information on the signatories (name and function) within the custodian bank

UniCredit Bank Austria would like to remind its clients that annual filing of tax reclaim forms per applicant is to be made.
