Vienna Stock Exchange has been admitted as the first registered benchmark administrator within the EU.

From the beginning of 2020, any financial institution using indices as underlying assets for derivatives or structured products is obliged to refer to indices maintained by an EU benchmark administrator.

The title of benchmark administrator can be granted to natural or physical persons in control over an index. Being registered as such, an administrator confirms the quality of the more than 130 tradable indices of the Vienna Stock Exchange that have already met the strictest European and global regulatory standards in the past.

The index business for Austria as well as for the CEE markets represents one of the main pillars of the service range of the Vienna Stock Exchange.
