The Romanian Financial Supervisory Authority published its “2016 Work Programme and the strategic objectives for the period 2016 – 2018”.

The projects foreseen for the years 2016 – 2018 aim to complement the initiatives ran in 2015, which had changed the shape of the regulated markets.

The document presented by the Financial Supervisory Authority contains the key long and short term objectives in the insurance, capital market and private pension sectors.

The main pillars of the 3-year strategy are as follows:

  • Protection of customers including an accurate information flow,
  • Ensuring the stability and the proper functioning of the 3 market segments,
  • Transposing European directives and standards into primary legislation,
  • Providing a proper environment in order to stimulate the development of the non-banking financial market
