The Users Committee of SaFIR, the depository for Government bonds managed by the National Bank, met on 10 February 2021 to discuss several topics of interest for the market.

The following topics were included in the agenda:

    • Updates on SaFIR system operations. statistics related to volumes and values of settled transactions, settlement rate, system performance
    • Revision of rules related to the organization and functioning of the SaFIR Users’ Committee
    • Topics under CSDR Implementation
      • Buy-in mechanism – analysis of alternative solutions
      • Review on SaFIR commissioning scheme – amendments required in order to align with the current international practices and legal requirements applicable to Central Depositories
    • Harmonization of local market practices with AMI SeCo Standards
    • Harmonization of local market practices with CAJWG Standards
