Bosnia and Herzegovina market statistics for May 2015

In May 2015, the Sarajevo Stock Exchange recorded a total turnover of BAM 75,646,839.05, which is 69.10% of the total turnover recorded on BiH stock exchanges. A total of 1,583,915 securities were traded within 441 transactions.

The majority of SASE turnover in May was recorded through two public offerings of T-Bills and one offering of government bonds with total value of BAM 69,867,776.70. In the official market of companies, total turnover amounted to BAM 134,972.35, which is 3.53% of the total SASE turnover. Within this segment of the market, 11,762 shares were traded.

The total turnover of investment funds in May amounted to BAM 375,635.54 or 9.83% of the total SASE turnover with 86,316 shares traded. In quotation of bonds, the total turnover in May amounted to BAM 802,649.62, or 21.00%, of the total recorded turnover. In this market segment, a sum of 851,515 bonds was traded in 51 transactions.

Turnover on the Primary Free market totalled BAM 1,012,822.13 or 26.50 % of the total turnover of SASE. Traffic on the Secondary Free Market amounted to BAM 1,440,575.16 or 37.69% of total SASE turnover. On the Tertiary Free Market, the turnover amounted to BAM 36,513.00.

The SASE Investment Funds Index BIFX increased by 1.23%. The value of the main SASE index SASX-10 increased by 1.99%. The value of the Index SASX-30 increased by 0.36 % compared to the previous month.

On the Banja Luka Stock Exchange (BLSE), the total turnover amounted to BAM 33,823,084. A total of 1,333 transactions were registered. The total turnover in trading with shares amounted to BAM 1,421,710, which is 14.5% of the total BLSE turnover. In May 2015, BAM 2,331,945 of turnover within ordinary trading with bonds was recorded on the BLSE and BAM 1,145,287.2 within ordinary trading with Investment Funds. Block trading amounted to BAM 14,065,681.

For a public offering of T-bills the total turnover amounted to BAM 14,858,460, which is 43.9% of the total BLSE turnover. The BLSE main index, BIRS, decreased by 0.45%. The value of the investment funds index, FIRS, decreased by 0.65 %. The value of the energy sector Index, ERS10, decreased by 0.96%. The index of the Republic of Srpska bonds, ORS, increased by 0.37% compared to the previous month.
