Mon, 03/08/2015

The sale of Nova KBM d.d., Slovenia’s second biggest bank, a transaction encompassing 100% of NKBM at EUR 250 million, is a further step in the process of privatisation of Slovenian state owned companies.

The signing of the sale and purchase agreement between Slovenian Sovereign Holding d.d. (SSH), representative of the Republic of Slovenia, and the buyers, Apollo Global Management, LLC and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), was announced recently.

The investment led by Apollo affiliated funds, in partnership with EBRD, was selected as the preferred buyer for NKBM following a competitive bidding process.  Certain Apollo affiliated funds will acquire 80% of NKBM and EBRD the remaining 20%.

Nova KBM with 10% market share is Slovenia's oldest and second largest bank. Established in 1862, Nova KBM is a fully state owned entity with more than 1,700 employees.
