UniCredit GSS hosted the annual Roadshow Event in London

After a hiatus of four years, triggered by the pandemic, UniCredit Global Securities Services (GSS) once again welcomed clients and partners to its annual GSS Roadshow, which was once again held physically at its London premises. Now in its ninth consecutive year, the event provided attendees with valuable insights into current trends, issues, and developments within the UniCredit GSS universe, specifically focused on Central and Eastern Europe.

The event kicked off with a warm welcome and presentation by Julia Barbara Romhanyi, Global Head of Securities Services at UniCredit, who was joined by Massimo Ortino, Head of Group Correspondent Banking, both underlining UniCredit's dedication to providing outstanding services for and with UniCredit’s Partners. UniCredit's Senior CEE Economist, Celik Gökce followed by giving detailed insight and forecasts on the macroeconomic situation in the region.

The mid-day sessions were highlighted by two panel discussions, featuring GSS market experts who provided insightful updates on recent market trends. These were then followed by Tanu Tuli, from UniCredit’s Corporate Platform, who led the audience on a transformative „journey” into Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) and digital assets. His presentation provided a glimpse into the future of financial services and highlighted UniCredit's commitment to innovation by embracing emerging technologies.

Márton Pados, Head of Operational Risk Management at GSS, gave an overview of UniCredit GSS' approach to risk management for client service excellence, underlining the multi-layer risk mitigation controls which are invaluable to both GSS and clients alike. Following this, Katalin Bóta, GSS Project Coordination & Product Development Head, gave an intriguing presentation on GSS’ new IT platform (BaNCS), elaborating on both the past deliberations at its initiation, the complexities involved in successfully sticking to timelines and delivering with little to no impact on clients, and the exhaustive benefits this new system now brings for the future of GSS.

Guest speaker, Virgine O’Shea, from Firebrand Research, provided a fascinating glimpse into the asset servicing and custody crystal ball, with thought-provoking insights into both the opportunities, threats, and consequences of ongoing industry developments.

Following some closing remarks by Sven Trahan, Deputy Global Head of GSS, attendees were invited to a post-Roadshow networking event which then allowed for further in-person discussions on all of the topics discussed throughout the day.

The positive response and feedback received from all participants reaffirmed the impact and value of yet another successful GSS Roadshow, paving the way for many more to come.
