Update of Certificates of Tax Residence for 2016

An update of client Certificates of Tax Residence for the calendar year 2016 is required by 31 January 2016

For the purpose of obtaining tax relief at source in 2016, all non-resident clients are advised to update their Certificates of Tax Residence as soon as possible after 1 January 2016, and not later than 31 January 2016.

An original of the Certificate of Tax Residence must be provided to UniCredit Bank Serbia. Notarisation and legalisation of this document is not required, however signature and stamp from the relevant tax authority of the client’s country of tax domicile must be present on the document. The presented certificate is valid for the calendar year of issuance. Please also note that the name of the investor on the Certificate of Tax Residence has to fully match the name of the account holder.

Impact on Investors: In case a non-resident client does not provide an updated Certificate of Tax Residence, statutory tax rates will be applied until UniCredit Bank Serbia receives a valid Certificate of Tax Residence for 2016.
