Exploring the potential of GPT technology at ZabaGPT Hackathon
Original Idea of ZabaGPT Hackathon
ZabaGPT Hackathon was organized as a competition of teams with members from IT and all other parts of the Bank who had a mission to develop innovative solutions while using GPT technology to improve the Bank's services and/or improve business processes.
A hackathon was a team event in which programmers and other participants in various roles, in a limited and defined time of 48 hours, jointly design and realize the implementation of a project of a technological background. The main goal was to explore the potential of GPT technology and create a solution/prototype that will present new and useful possibilities by the end of the event. Teams had the opportunity to show their knowledge, creativity, and innovation in finding the best solutions for our clients and internal processes.
The hackathon gave us the opportunity to explore the potential of GPT technology, develop innovative ideas, and create interesting POCs (proof of concept, i.e., prototype) in teams.
What is GPT technology?
GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) is an advanced machine-learning model that can generate human-like sentences, answer questions, recognize patterns, solve puzzles, and more.
ZabaGPT Hackathon Results
ZabaGPT Hackathon has been successfully held during the weekend of May 19-21, 2023 under the slogan: Banking on Brilliance. This exceptional competition fully justified its name – at a unique event in Zaba, we really honed the brilliant banking ideas of our great Hackathon teams.
Forty-five of our colleagues, divided into ten teams, worked for 48 hours, using generative artificial intelligence tools to design and develop solutions for improving internal processes and developing products and services for our clients. All ten teams have presented excellent, innovative proposals and functional POCs (proof of concept) that showed how artificial intelligence and the most advanced GPT technology can be effectively used to simplify and speed up the implementation of digital bank projects. In the competition, which, in addition to the competitive spirit, brought a lot of teamwork within and between the teams, as well as with mentors who provided professional, technical, and consultative support to the participants all the time, a lot was learned, and the atmosphere was excellent – positively competitive and motivating.
It is more than evident that a new era is ahead of us, into which we are boldly entering in order to unite our knowledge and experience with the most advanced technology to create new solutions and breakthroughs in banking.
