Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency (HANFA) suffered a cyberattack on its computer systems on 23 January 2024. Internal electronic communication was re-established and HANFA website was almost completely restored on 25 January 2024.
The causes and consequences of the attack are still under investigation. The total damage is still not determined.
In the second phase of the recovery, the publication of public registers and the renewal of the page for registered users of HANFA reporting system are expected.
HANFA, acting in accordance with the applicable regulations and taking into account the possible risk to the rights and freedoms of the individuals, reported this incident to the competent authority for the protection of personal data. HANFA remains to be focused on prevention of the personal data being compromised.
Regardless of the course of the event, HANFA continues with regular work within its jurisdiction and remains in direct contact with the subjects of supervision regarding the regular delivery and submission of all reports.
Cyberattack on HANFA systems had no influence on provision of custody services by Zagrebacka banka.
