UniCredit Bank Hungary GSS will continue to use the 8-digit BIC code (BACXHUHB) for communication both on the sender and the receiver side.
Fri, 12/11/2021

With reference to our previous Newsflash published on 05/11/2021 (here) we would like to inform our partners that we have reconsidered our original plan to introduce the eleven-digit communicating BIC code from 6 December 2021.

This means that the 11-digit communicating BIC code will not be introduced on the 6th of December 2021, the launch will be postponed at a further stage.

This change will apply only to the introduction of the communicating BIC code and it does not affect the original plans on the change of the matching BIC code.

What will change as of December 6, 2021:

•      A separate, new matching BIC of BACXHUHBCUS for UniCredit Hungary GSS will be introduced.

What will not change as of December 2021:

•           We will continue to use the 8-digit BIC code (BACXHUHB) for communication both on the sender and the receiver side. Please keep sending your MT5xx instructions/messages to the currently used eight-digit BIC that is BACXHUHB. UniCredit Hungary will keep sending the confirmation messages and statements to you from the BACXHUHB BIC code.

Impact on investors:  Communicating BIC code of UniCredit GSS will remain unchanged, no further action is required from our partners with regards the BIC code used for SWIFT communication with UniCredit Hungary GSS.
