It’s a pleasure to have this opportunity to address you from my new role as Head of Securities Services in Austria. As you may have read in our previous Newsletter, I was appointed to this position several months ago and, in this respect, I can already express my gratitude that my inclusion, both into the team, and the overall Group has been very welcoming. For me, this is almost a sense of coming home, having last worked in Securities Services in Slovenia from 2005-2007.
I’m also very excited to be joining this team in a time of tremendous advancement, highlighted by the most recent rollouts of our new Custody system, BaNCS, in almost all markets. Austria will now be the last entity to complete this all-important project and, as I write this, we find ourselves in the final stages of testing which, I am happy to report indicates a timely and successful delivery well within the parameters of our overall plan. This is also a testament to the dedication of not only my team, but all the teams prior who paved the way towards this accomplishment.
Carrying the momentum forward is made even easier by the fact that the GSS team in Austria brings with it an average tenure rate unmatched throughout much of the market, if not industry. For me personally, having joined a team with this much experience has made my transition all the more easy and, not only do I have the opportunity to lead, but also to learn a great deal from what can truly be considered a flagship team within UniCredit.
Since June, I have already had the opportunity to meet many of our partners, some of you who may be reading this right now. I am grateful to each and every one of you who have been so welcoming in my transition and especially for all of the positive feedback provided. As I continue to focus on closing this significant milestone for GSS Austria, namely the rollout of new Custody system, I will also look forward to fostering the trust instilled in us and building on the relationships we treasure.
In this spirit of optimism, I am pleased to be able to present this quarter’s edition of our GSS Newsletter which, once again, showcases the knowledge of the GSS family of which I’m proud to now be a member.
