GSS Newsletter December 2021 - Issue 2017

DECEMBER 2021 - ISSUE 2017

Dear Clients, Partners and Friends,

We are coming to the end of another exciting year. The new normality we have been living in enables new ways of communication and further business resiliency. Nowadays security, in all its forms, is imperative for all.

In this respect UniCredit Global Securities Services has managed to adapt perfectly to this new environment, which was reflected by the success of the Virtual GSS Roadshow and the Virtual Network Forum events. The end of the year also marks the first important milestone in our implementation plan for our new custody system (BANCS), with Romania having successfully transitioned to the new platform on December 6th. This fulfils one of the main 2021 priorities for Global Securities Services and gives us the additional confidence for future rollouts in other UniCredit subsidiaries during the following months. At the same time, UniCredit GSS is working to ensure a smooth transition towards meeting the obligations of the new regulatory environment, represented, first and foremost, by the introduction of the CSDR Discipline in February 2022.

Last but not least, I would like to wish all our clients, partners and friends a peaceful festive season during which everyone can enjoy the company of their loved ones. I look forward to re-engaging with you in 2022 and trust that we can return to the normality of seeing each other in person again. In the meantime, above all else, stay healthy and safe.

Julia Barbara Romhanyi Global Head of Securities Services
